How To Use Volvo Cruise Control
Volvo Cruise Control is a system that maintains the speed at which your car travels. It's a feature that has been added to many of our vehicles and can be used in all weather conditions.
Benefits of Cruise Control
This may be useful for long journeys, as it often takes more time than expected to reach your destination. It can also be helpful on motorways where frequent speed limits are in place: by maintaining a constant speed, you will avoid speeding fines or having to stop and start again if you need to slow down. The cruise control system can also be helpful if you are driving in a city or through heavy traffic where it is challenging to keep a constant speed. This allows drivers to focus on the road ahead and not worry about adjusting their speed manually.
Press the + key on the steering wheel
Press the + key on the steering wheel until the desired speed is reached. To confirm that your desired speed has been reached, observe and confirm the following:
● The cruise control icon will illuminate in the instrument cluster; this indicates that cruise control is active.
● The chosen speed will be displayed in a large font on your center display (18).
Press the cruise control button
When the desired speed has been reached, press the cruise control button. If you wish to change your rate, press either of the buttons on the steering wheel. The cruise control will disengage and set a new speed for you. If you wish to clear completely, press either of these buttons again.
If you want to disengage temporarily to change gears or use other controls such as turn indicators or headlights, press either of these buttons again while keeping your foot off both pedals (brake pedal and accelerator pedal).
To Deactivate
To deactivate the cruise control, press the brake pedal. If you have a manual gearbox, you can also disengage the cruise control by pressing down on the clutch pedal. The following conditions will automatically disengage your Volvo's cruise control:
● When you press on or off-brake pedals, to disengage the cruise control, you must press and hold the brake pedal for at least two seconds if your vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). If not, you can still use the cruise control, but you need to press the + key on the steering wheel until the desired speed is reached.
● When you select Speed Limiter mode (if available), this feature can limit the top speed of your car, which helps you drive in areas with speed limits. For example, if you have a maximum speed limit of 70 mph on your freeway, you could also set the top speed for your car to 70 mph.
● When engaging Reverse gear while in Drive or Neutral gear positions. If you want to drive in reverse, you need to disengage the cruise control first. You do this by pressing the cruiser control button again, which will cause it to disengage automatically.
